Hello readers, welcome to our blog Toothsome Tomatoes! We’re two women who love cooking and want to share our creations with you. “Toothsome Tomatoes” aptly encapsulates our obsession with delicious food and our womanly vivaciousness. Pretty clever alliteration, huh?

All joking aside, this blog has been a long time in the making and we have some pretty lofty goals. First, we want to inspire you to get in the kitchen and cook up something toothsome. Second, we hope to share with you how other people experience food and drink around the world, either during specific holidays, or using regional ingredients that you may not have heard about. And third, we hope to learn something new ourselves, either in the kitchen, or from you, our readers.

If you’re wondering how our collaboration came about, let us explain…

In the hippie wonderland of Berkeley, California, we first crossed paths while living together in a student co-op. It wasn’t until a year later when we both signed up to work a shift at the co-op headquarters packing produce that we bonded over our shared love of travel, new experiences, and how we connect with the rest of the world. In between handfuls of kale and smuggled pocketfuls of chocolate-covered cranberries, we forged a friendship and passion for food that has lasted nearly a decade.

As adults, we’ve learned how to navigate around a kitchen and put together a mean casserole or two. However, we’re not claiming to be experts. Instead, we want to invite you all on our culinary journey and share in our kitchen successes (and failures). We hope that you enjoy our recipes and try them yourselves at home!

Hunger is the best sauce,
Lindsey & Cassy
